The NEESgrid software links earthquake researchers across the U.S. with leading-edge computing resources and research equipment, allowing collaborative teams (including remote participants) to plan, perform, and publish their experiments. NEESgrid uses the newest and fastest communications technologies to tie the NEES network together. For the next ten years, NEESit will evolve the NEESgrid distribution and support the IT needs of earthquake engineering research.
NEESit is a collaboration among several instutions, led by the San Diego Supercomputer Center at UCSD , including: Northwest Alliance for Computation Science & Engineering (NACSE) at Oregon State University , University of California at Berkeley (UCB), University of Michigan (UM), Systems Integration Team (SI), and Creare, Inc .
The NEES Project is supported by the George E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) of the National Science FoundationGeorge E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) of the National Science Foundation under grant CMS-0402490.
