Daniel B. Horn is a research psychologist at the US Army Research Institute for Behavioral and Social Sciences in Washington, DC. He conducts research on the development of video-game based training tools. Prior to this, he was a research fellow at the School of Information , working with the Collaboratory for Research on Electronic Work as part of the User Requirements team for NEESgrid , a national earthquake engineering collaboratory. Horn received his doctorate in cognitive psychology at the University of Michigan . His research focuses on the effects of technology on human communication. His graduate work involved laboratory experiments of video-mediated communication, including the development of organizational routines, the effects of videotaped expert testimony in the courtroom, and the effects of video quality on human lie detection performance. In addition, he worked at IBM Research , conducting studies on the usability of speech recognition interfaces. |
